Description
A 10 m x 12 m clear-span shelter that bolts across two shipping containers, turning the gap between them into 120 square metres of covered, well-ventilated space. The containers do the work of the footings, so there is no slab, no piering and no welding on site. Because it sits on containers rather than a foundation, a dome is normally treated as a temporary structure – which is why most yards put one up without the approvals a permanent building needs. Council rules vary, so confirm yours before you order.
Frame and cover
- Hot-dipped galvanised steel tube, 76 x 1.8 mm and 48 x 1.5 mm.
- Single-truss arches at 2 m centres – 7 arches across the 12 m length.
- 610 g/m² PVC commercial-grade fabric with an acrylic surface treatment: waterproof, UV-resistant and fire-resistant.
What you need on site
- Two shipping containers set 10 m apart, parallel and level. Overall height is 6.8 m measured from the ground with High Cube containers.
- Containers are not supplied. We can quote them with the shelter if you need a pair.
- No welding and no concrete. The kit bolts to the container rails and comes with a full installation manual.
Warranty
- Two years on the fabric.
- Five years on the structure, depreciating 15% per year across the five.
